Ardeer Childrens Church
There isn't much news since we have had the Summer Sunday School. Last Sunday (20th August) we were back to the usual routine and hope that everyone is back at school and that they will look forwards to returning to the Childrens' Church.
We are lucky in that some advanced girls and boys are going to be a good help to us, they are getting organized with stories and music with the teachers to help.
Any boy, girl or babies wishing to come along will be made most welcome. Ages from babies to 16 years.

Treasurer's Report (November 2006)
Income
Total income from Offerings to the end of July was £ 17,000 which equates to a weekly average of £567. This compares with E613 as a weekly average during 2005. Church attendance and hence income from offerings during the summer months tends to be lower than the remainder of the year, however it is concerning that the weekly average figure continues to fall.
Our Gift Aid claim of £5,141 for the financial year 2005/2006 has now been received. Thanks to our Gift Aid Convenors and to everyone who uses this scheme to obtain much needed additional income for the church. A transfer of £5,000 was required from the No. 3 account to fund a number of major expenditures during the period.
Smartie tubes were passed out to members during June. The date for return of the tubes has still to be finalised, details will be intimated at future church services.
Expenditure
Additional small hall improvements comprising replacement of the windows have been completed, unfortunately the condition of the roof is such that immediate replacement of the existing covering is required before any further work can be undertaken.
Other major items of expenditure include:
Locum salary 2005: £5,129 Gas: £2,602 Bus £390 Insurance £450.00 Presbytery dues : £636
Major Fabric Expenditure.
Due to difficulties encountered operating the existing bank account a new account has been opened which will provide both a monthly statement and the correct pay in information to enable Gift Aid claims for the total income to this fund to be submitted.
All monthly cash receipts are now paid into the new account. Standing order payments will continue to be paid into the old account meantime until the necessary transfer arrangements can be made. Forms detailing standing order transfer details are presently being prepared and will be available shortly.
Retiring Offering
The Retiring Offering at the September Communion service will again be to support Ardeer Primary in their fund raising efforts for the "School for Africa" project. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the March retiring offering which realised a total of £200.00.

Count Teams
As suggested above during the summer months the number of people attending church tends to fall. This has an impact on people being available for the weekly count teams to the extend that over the past few weeks the number of people left to count the offering was reduced to two people, and in one instance, one person! If you are on the count and for any reason cannot attend, please arrange for a deputy.

Thanks
May I, at this time, convey my sincere thanks to members of the congregation, for their kind thoughts and prayers, also for flowers and cards recieved, when my daughter Agnes passed away. It is these tokens of sympathy that help so much at such a difficult time.
Jim Allen
Annette and myself would like to thank everyone in the congregation for the cards and flowers that were sent to us during my illness and recuperation from my recent heart bypass operation. Everything is fine now and Annette and I were very greatful to be remembered in your thoughts.
